Founded in 2014, the Chloe Gosselin luxury shoe brand perfectly blends French cool with Italian craftsmanship. Born in France, Gosselin attended the renowned Fine Arts Program at the School of Lacambre in Belgium. Following a decade of traveling the world as an international model, Gosselin returned to school to study shoemaking at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, where her brand was born.
Gosselin’s passion for Contemporary Art and design, music and priceless vintage artifacts, results in a collection that is not trend led. She soon identified a niche in the luxury shoe market for timeless and understated designs that suit the modern woman and all aspects of their daily lives. Within this niche, the brand has rapidly gained momentum and is now stocked internationally in the world’s most illustrious department stores and online destinations such as Barneys, Shopbop, Bon Marche, La Rinascente and Boutique 1. Chloe Gosselin has become the go-to shoe brand worn to events including the Grammys and Golden Globes by Nicole Kidman,Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Taylor Swift and Elisabeth Moss amongs others.
Chloe designs for women like herself; she creates the kind of shoes that she wants to wear because she is the Chloe Gosselin customer. Each shoe is designed in her New York studio and handmade in a remote town a few miles from central Milan. Emphasis is on classic design, the finest fabrics and exceptional craftsmanship with a distinctive youthfulness and fun aesthetic. Previously listed as a ‘brand to watch’, Chloe Gosselin’s ability to constantly deliver sought after collections and classic designs, has reinforced her position at the forefront of the global luxury footwear market. Chloe Gosselin is a member of the CFDA as of July 2017 and a 2016 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalist.
In an airbrushed world of ephemeral trends, Chloe Gosselin’s debut resort collection stands apart in its tribute to the originality and authenticity that surrounds us.
The palette takes inspiration from the beauty of nature, vintage, fashion and the way women wear vibrant hues in their everyday lives. Gosselin translates these references into unexpected color-blocking combinations: navy and copper, red and violet.
Gosselin says: “ It is a true Cruise collection with pops of color and linen fabrics, its vibrancy and materials recall the sea and its shore. The theme was sparked by a conversation with a dear friend about Mermaids, and how they had to give up their voice to have legs. I’ve imagined this army of Sirenas united and strong, conquering the world without losing their femininity and playfulness.
Textiles including garnet, gingham, candy pink stripes and a creamy yellow linen imbue the designer’s classic silhouettes with a playful spirit, while a new hand-painted bamboo buckle and an almond toe lend a vintage aesthetic. The ruching of the past two seasons takes new form in elasticated upper of a mule, and of course, no collection is complete without Gosselin’s most distinctive signature, the crescent moon-a symbol of femininity and fertility, it also mirrors the shape of her initial “C”. For Resort ‘19, it reappears in her curved block heel, which leaves a moon-shaped print.
