Galeries Lafayette Doha is located within the newly developed 21 High st – the ultimate outdoor shopping destination – at the heart of Katara Cultural Village, home to a thriving and bustling cultural scene. Katara hosts many spectacular festivities, cultural events and activities all-year-round, drawing large crowds to the area.

This will further ensure growing footfall trickling into Galeries Lafayette and provide visitors to the store with a diverse mixture of retail experience and entertainment. It also reflects Galeries Lafayette’s commitment towards merging art and culture with fashion and retail within the fabric of the experience it offers.


Bringing one of the most well-established and globally celebrated department stores to Qatar required putting together an exceptional team of experts and professionals in the retail and shopping industry, in an effort to ensure meeting the high standards expected.

Ali Bin Ali Holding assembled a strong core team that has overseen the complete process of bringing the concept to life locally, led by David Miller, General Manager of Galeries Lafayette Doha. Mr Miller has over 20 years of experience in the industry, working with the best international brands. Operationally, David aims at engendering a professional and customer-service focused culture, borne out of his many years of working experience in Harrods. In addition to the team he is assembling around him, David can call upon a highly experienced international team in Galeries Lafayette Paris who are fully engaged with the project and offer support to the Doha team throughout every part of the process, leading up to the opening of the store and beyond.


Qatar has a population of more than 2.7 million, 90% of which reside within the capital Doha. Katara Cultural Village is spread over an area of 2 million sqm. 21 High st – the ultimate outdoor shopping destination – occupies an area of 38,000 sqm divided as follows:
